Database Access Change
Attention:
As of September 2015 the general membership access to the WWARA database
has been discontinued. This was done to reduce the necessity of maintaining
passwords and due to general security concerns. The information available
to the general member has been replaced by a the CSV file (a text file
which can be opened by any text editor or spreadsheet program) that is
generated nightly and published to the WWARA website as a database extract.
The information available in the CSV file includes all the information
previously available to members plus additional items including expiration
dates of coordinations.
Future plans include adding the ability for coordination holders to renew
and to submit new coordination requests online. When this new functionality
is made available, new accounts will be provided. To aid in the process of
identifying possible frequency pairs for new repeaters, a second CSV file
will be added shortly which includes all of the proposed and pending
coordinations. Proposed repeaters are those an application has been filed
for, but is not yet on the air. Pending repeaters are those on the air and
in the testing phase of coordination.
The database committee is also working to provide a more human readable
version of these files. Currently the PDF version of the database extract is
manually built and is thus only created every couple months.
7/11/2016 Update
Andrew Jorgensen, KC7RBW, wrote and shared with WWARA the software that converts a CSV file into a CHiRP file.
If you run into him, please say thanks.
The WWARA CHiRP file is produced and is available in the same archive as the CSV file. What this means is that
every night when the latest dump of coordinations is generated as the CSV file, a corresponding CHiRP file is also produced.
